Jordan River Trail Urban Rangers

The Wasatch Front Urban Ranger Program is a volunteer trail ambassador program coordinated by the University of Utah in partnership with the National Park Service. Wasatch Front Urban Rangers provide community outreach along trails like the Bonneville Shoreline Trail and the Jordan River Trail. Their goal is to provide environmental interpretation and public land management education to trail users, and to assist trail managers by reporting trail hazards and picking up litter. Urban Rangers also help gather data about healthy lifestyles, outdoor recreation participation, and attitudes towards trail etiquette and trail conflict.

The University of Utah and the National Park Service are proud to partner with the Jordan River Commission, Cotopaxi, Competitive Cyclist, Black Diamond, Mountain Khakis, U of U Outdoor Adventures, Leave No Trace/Tread Lightly, Portland Design Works, and Robert Aseltine to achieve these shared goals!
