Habitat Patches

Jordan River Parkway Habitat Patches

Activities to improve ecosystem integrity include cleaning garbage from the river and installing riparian “habitat patches” along the river corridor. Several locations for riparian habitat patch installation were identified and site preparation was done with Utah Conservation Corps crews during July, 2015.

The funding provided by the Jordan River Foundation was used to purchase plants and provide instruction for a group of Eagle Scouts and members of the Water Environment Association of Utah for a planting event that we held on the Legacy Nature Preserve on August 8, 2015. Approximately 25 people participated in the event, which was one of several events conducted along the Lower Jordan River in 2015.
