Tall Pots

Jordan River Parkway tall pots

The Jordan River Foundation's Tall Pot Planting Project uses specialized extended containers that develop deep root systems in native trees and shrubs before planting, dramatically improving survival rates in challenging riverside environments. Volunteers work with restoration specialists to install these plants in strategic locations that support bank stabilization, wildlife habitat, and improved water quality.

This initiative combines ecological restoration with community engagement, bringing together diverse participants from schools, businesses, and neighborhood groups for planting events. As these deep-rooted natives mature, they create shade corridors that cool the river, filter pollutants, and establish resilient riparian zones that withstand fluctuating water levels and extreme weather events.
