The Jordan River Foundation in Utah - Rachel Turk

Rachel is the Communications and Outreach Manager for the Jordan River Commission. She grew up in Salt Lake City participating in education and scouting programs that brought her to the Jordan River to learn about our watershed, community, environmental stewardship, water safety, and navigation.

Her passions around these topics lead her to attend Utah State University, where she received a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture and a minor in Ornamental Horticulture. She has served as the secretary of the Utah Chapter of Landscape Architects, President of the Millcreek Parent Teacher Association and member of the Millcreek Elementary Community Council and board member of the Friends of First Encampment Park.

Prior to joining the Jordan River Commission, Rachel was working as the Morgan County Historian, where she focused her work on architectural reservation, and was able to create a National Historic District within the City of Morgan. Rachel is excited to join the Jordan River Foundation and utilize her experience to bring education opportunities to the next generation of students (including her own two children), so they can learn to love the River and take care of it for many years to come.
